Dare to Wear - Bizarre Shoes

Experimental shoe designer Annejet Kosters creates wild shoes designs that are more art than they are footwear. Take for example the toeless “The Golden Heel” pictured here. Not exactly what I would call practical.

For more from the Dutch designer, check out Annejet Kosters’ website for other wild shoe designs. Thanks to Barbara Schreiber at Britannica Blog for letting me know about these shoes.

We had the traditional 2" to 3" heel, then the “high” heel that measured four inches. This season, though, designers like famed shoe maker Christian Louboutin and others are cranking their heels up to a good 5-plus inches.

Killer Queen: Twelve Inches of Death? Is the designer Alexander McQueen a fashion genius or just crazy?  He rocked Paris yesterday during his Plato’s Atlantis show. Models wore heels towering 12-inches high.
